Why do the puppies look so different from each other?

When two F1 Saint Berdoodles are bred together, each puppy inherits traits from two different Saint Bernard grandmothers (one rough and one smooth in this case) and two different Parti-colored Standard Poodle grandfathers. Some puppies may inherit more traits from the Saint Bernard side, while others may take after the Poodle side more strongly. That's why puppies in the same litter can vary in size, coat type, color, markings, and personality. Every puppy is truly one of a kind.

How big will they get?

Likely between 50 and 75 lbs.

Are the puppies up to date on shots?

The puppies received their third round of shots on August 26th at Middendorf Animal Hospital & Laser Center.

Will they shed?

Yes.

What are the grooming needs?

Smooth to curly coat, with moderate to high grooming needs and variable shedding.

What is ENS?

Every puppy in this litter received Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) during the first 16 days of life. Commonly known as the "Super Dog" program, ENS was developed through the U.S. military's canine program and consists of five simple exercises performed once a day during this brief developmental window.

Studies have shown that puppies receiving ENS may benefit from improved cardiovascular performance, stronger adrenal function, greater stress tolerance, and enhanced resilience later in life.

ENS only takes a few seconds each day, but we believe those first 16 days matter. It was one of the many ways we worked to give these puppies the very best start possible before continuing with age-appropriate enrichment, socialization, and positive, reward-based training.

What kind of socialization has my puppy had?

As soon as the puppies had their first set of shots, we set up an exercise pen in our front yard which was, of course, a child magnet!

All of the children in the Ivy Pond neighborhood had a hand in socializing these puppies to different people, surfaces, and noises over the past summer. 

Are the puppies house trained?

Each puppy has been started on house training using Fresh Patch natural grass, helping them learn an appropriate elimination surface before going to their new homes. We have since transitioned the puppies to artificial turf.

How much does it cost to adopt a puppy?

The adoption fee is $400 per puppy. My goal in breeding this litter was to raise a future service dog for myself, not to make a profit. I would much rather place each puppy in a loving, lifelong home than earn money from the adoptions.

I expect all puppy buyers to commit to raising and training these puppies using science-based operant conditioning and to spay or neuter them as advised by their veterinarian.
